Welcome to the blog!

Brethren and Friends,

You have my humble thanks for reading this new blog. My name is JR, and I am a Mason in Virginia under the Grand Lodge of Virginia. I was raised in 2012, and have not, as yet, attained the illustrious title of “Past Master.”Nonetheless, this blog will serve as a repository for my analysis of and rumination on my role in the world’s oldest and largest fraternal organization. I hope you’ll share the journey with me.

On Tuesday nights, you can find me co-hosting The Masonic Roundtable (http://www.facebook.com/TheMasonicRoundtable) with four of my close brethren and friends as we attempt to spur open, honest, and constructive discourse on recent developments within the Masonic fraternity.

  1. I love the concept of this blog… wished I would have thought of it!!!

Years ago I heard a preacher, who served a number of years in the armed forces, told of how the military has a phrase… K.I.S.S. (Keep It Strictly Simple)… and with all the wordiness that even freemasonry can be guilty of, the phrase he shared has inspired me to see through the mountain of words and seek the “heart of the matter”.

I like your idea that you want to distill the mountain of words and get to the heart of the matter… that vital essence that makes freemasonry a powerful conduit for good men to become better men. Though we are all seeking more light, it’s nice to see someone focusing that light down to the strength of a laser.

Let me know what you think!
